The Design Department
In most situations, our first meeting between the designer and the homeowner will take place at the site. A general discussion of wants will lead to a rough design layout. At this meeting an understanding of the scope of the project and our ability to design it will be established. A price for a plan may be set at this time. A design contract will be sent to the client. Once signed and returned along with a survey of the property, a second meeting will be set up at the Birch Hill Landscaping office/showroom. The client is expected to come prepared to this meeting with photographs, a list of favorite plants, magazine pictures and any other images that will convey the feeling and elements that are to be included in the design. It is the goal of our designers to customize the design to your specifications, and not impose a cookie-cutter design on your site.
After this meeting the design will be worked on and a preliminary plan drawn up. A third meeting will review the design. Costs will have been applied to the design so that a working budget can be established. If needed, a second preliminary plan will be drafted. If this is not necessary, a final design will be drafted from discussions at this meeting. |
